Benoit Badiashile has insisted all of the Chelsea squad are behind Mauricio Pochettino with rumours over the head coach’s future at the club.
After the 5-0 defeat at Arsenal last month, there were plenty of calls from Blues supporters for Pochettino to be sacked from his role. However, since the heavy loss in north London, Pochettino has led his side to seven points from a possible nine against Aston Villa, Tottenham and West Ham United.
A second-half fightback against Villa, where they trailed 2-0 at one stage, started the resurgence in form. Since the draw at Villa Park, the west Londoners have been virtually faultless. A 2-0 win against Spurs last week was followed three days later by the thrashing of the Hammers at Stamford Bridge to put Chelsea in a strong position to qualify for European football once again this season.
Chelsea players saw their personality and character questioned by many after the defeat at the Emirates Stadium, but since then the squad have responded emphatically. Badiashile, whose return to form has coincided with the team’s resurgence, says that every single player is behind Pochettino, whose position is set to be reviewed at the end of the season, football.london understands.
